Frequently Asked Questions
JOHN PAGE SIGNATURE GUITARS
It’s in the details: the ergonomic body contours, the proprietary neck-to-body connection, and the superior tonal transfer. We meticulously select every component to ensure that every guitar is playable to the highest professional level right out of the case.
Don’t overthink it—most of the thinking’s been done for you already. Just play.
If you see “John Page Signature” on the headstock, it was built by master-builder Chase Gullett and his team. Chase works in close, daily collaboration with John to ensure every instrument captures the soul and playability of a John Page original.
Our finishes are handled by Chase Gullett and the legendary team at Wilkins Guitar Finishes. Pat Wilkins brings decades of artistry to our thin, resonant finishes, while Robie Canlas provides world-class expertise in authentic Relic’ing. Between Chase, Pat, and Robie, we offer some of the finest finishes in the industry.
Those are John Page Classic guitars. They were factory-built in Japan under a previous licensing agreement. While they carry the name, John was not involved in the oversight or manufacture of those instruments.
The "John Page Classic" line was a high-volume, factory-produced product. In contrast, John Page Signature guitars are small-batch, boutique instruments. Every Signature guitar is built by hand under John’s direct supervision to ensure it meets the exacting standards he has honed over 50+ years in the industry.
That indicates the guitar was built entirely by John Page himself. These are rare instruments.
Bloodline® Pickups
Our Bloodline® pickups are hand-wound in Japan and voiced by John to amplify the acoustic properties of every John Page guitar as naturally as possible. A John Page designed guitar sounds so good unplugged that all you want to do is turn it up.
Sure! Even we do it sometimes, like in the Noah Levine Signature DL, which was designed with Lollar pickups in mind from the ground up.
However, you’ll want to A/B what the guitar sounds like with our Bloodline® pickups installed so you at least have a sense of home base on the guitar. You might find it’s already doing what you need it to do right out of the case. After all, 50 years of experience isn’t for nothing.
